Some folks have a TOUGH time finding their way around the halls of EC Online. I have thrown together a few tips that HOPEFULLY will help y'all navigate mo' better.
Below is the link I use to come to the forums. http://eldercare.infopop.cc/6/ubb.x This is the forums index page which lists ALL the categories and individual forums under those categories. Take a good long look at what you see there. Each forum has a description of the content contained within it. You will see that the forums are listed under categories along the left side of the page. On the right side, you will see the most recent posts from that forum (which may have hundreds of individual topics or threads). Let's look at an example... The very first forum is the "Newcomers Posting Guide." Look to the right and you will see that the most recent post in that forum is "1. Welcome Letter" authored by Casey on 7/24/2001 at 11:59 am If you click on the blue words (they will appear dark purple if you have already visited that thread), you will be taken to that topic/thread. Let's click on it and see where it leads us (and how to find our way back!) *click* OK. I clicked on it and now I see Casey's post. Because this is an administrative post, no replies are allowed, but we can see some interesting things from here. Look ALL THE WAY to the top of the page where it says: ElderCare Online The ElderCare Forum The ElderCare Forum Hop To Forum Categories Newcomer's Posting Guide 1. Welcome Letter This is a navigation "tree" - like an outline of where you are now. Each of those phrases, except the very last one ('cause you are already there), are "clickable." The first one takes you to the main page of ecOnline. The second and third ones take you BACK to the forum index page (where we just were!). The fourth phrase takes you to the specific forum index page - in this case, the "Newcomer's Posting Guide," - where you can view the titles of all the topics/threads in that forum. Let's click on that and see what we find. *click* Now we see a list of all the topics by title, arranged by the date of the last post to those topics. There's a welcome letter, getting started..., what's in a name, etc. You can click on any of those titles to read that topic. Let's click back to the forums index page... *click* To see the new posts since your last visit, click on "FIND" and then on "New since your last visit." A list of new replies and new topics. You can click on them to go straight there! I HOPE this helps y'all to learn the basics of getting around here! If you have questions, please don't hesitate to post 'em as a reply to this topic. That way if some other poor lost soul comes along, they can benefit from the questions and answers they see here. "She ain't heavy; she's my mother." |

Hi Luv and welcome!
Look under NEW CAREGIVERS MEETING ROOM. We were trying to put it somewhere where it wouldn't get buried under all our silliness at the ECO bar&grill! |

I'm not lost but my post is....
I posted last night in the Casual Corner section under "I'm not sure where to post this..." and it is gone today... Would you know where it went? It was my first time posting and "Fat Dumb and Happy" had responded but now it is all gone... Any thoughts? Thanks! |

Sorry, Angel. If I had found and answer for THAT kind of "lost," I would be on the phone right now to my attorney to patent it and my accountant to start counting the money I would make from the sales of my new, improved, sure-fire snake oil!
As for being a rock - today, I feel more like gravel in the driveway Many blessings to you now and always! *... now where did I put my compass...which way is up on this thing...where did I last see my fanny and should I use both hands to find it...mutter, mutter...* "She ain't heavy; she's my mother." |
