Question:
What do you think about the new look and feel of the Eldercare Forum? I just upgraded to the newest version of the software.

Now I'm leaving it up to our members of the next two weeks to decide whether to keep the new look, modify it, or go back to the old "tried and true."

Choices:
Keep the New Forum
Keep the New Forum but slightly change the graphics
Go back to the Old Forum

Hi DianaT...

"New Since Your Last Visit" and "Today's Active Topics" can be accessed by pointing and clicking on the little globe under the ec-online.net banner on the upper left hand corner of your screen.

Good luck, and keep posting!

As with anything new, I was trying to acclimate to the new format but I still missing the "Posted since your last visit" part. It was a helpful tool to found out what was new quickly and in an easy way.

Is this part embbeded in a new title or is lost forever? Frown

It's nice to see you posting again. I know that caregiving can completely take your focus so there is little left for things you would like to do. Keeping a balance in your life is a must.

Egad you turn around, and things change! Rich, you sure are keeping our brain cells active. That's a good thing.....I think. Razz

I'm gonna have to play a bit, but so far so good. You must have thought it offered us a lot more, if you felt it was worth trying. Go for it!

Meanwhile saying a BIG HELLO to everybody and waving lots with the help of Jim's icon. Good one, Jim!

I'm not doing much than lurking these days, but it's in a good cause. I'm working very hard on keeping a routine and some balance in my life so that I do stuff for me too, not just for Mum and her life. It seems there aren't enough hours in the day. And it's hard because she is so good at doing the helpless Lady of the Manor routine. I often get suckered into doing stuff for her that she's quite capable of doing for herself. arghhhhh

One question, Rich. Would it be possible to have a post preview function on this new forum? I have found it helpful on other forums in the past to preview posts in regular format, edit a bit, then hit the post now button.

Thanks for all you do. Love, Rita

Hi Melissa...
You can create a subject line with alternative typefaces until Rich can adjust the format.

Thanks, Rich...
The reversed out typeface on the purple bands was most helpful.

Rich I was wondering if there is a way with this forum to put in a subject line in our replies. I found it helpful to be able to direct a reply to a specific person in threads that had wandered here and there a bit.

"Whatever tomorrow brings, I"ll be there-with open arms and open eyes"

Just to clarify a little more for Janie here-

I wasn't sick in the manner depicted by the icons but I've not been able to find an icon to depict what my problem was--

Thank God for small favours.

Jim, so sorry you have been under the weather.Because of the many stresses you have experienced these past weeks you are probably a little run down as is your immune system.Having DIVERTICULITIS I emphasize for you.Have they asked you to participate in mothers therapy.I was present with mother , many years ago. Then we had a therapist in the home.Mother was a perfect student. Many changes from that time.

Jes, Janie dear,

that means I have been sick--evidently picked up some sort of GI virus in the hospital or the NH and had the runs from Friday morning until about 11:30 last night when the Imodium finally kicked in right.
Couple this with GI cramps---No Jokes here now--
and you don't get a very pleasant pix.

The the dumbass Mom's daughter takes some of her clothes to wash--but then tells me she doesn't know when she can get them back.
The NH is supposed to do the wash.

I don't have that much in the way of progress report on mom's hip repair--I know she had PT on Thursday, has eaten the 3 meals a day. Thursday afternoon she was in bed asleep--very peacefully and not fitfully like in the hosp.
She evidently ha been taken off the darvocet except PRN--that must have been really whacking her out. They had her really drugged for the discharge on Wednesday--she had no clue--slept all day long.

She gets the staples out on Thursday in the NH, goes back to see surgeon in 6 weeks--from when--I'll have to ask him tomorrow.

By all accounts, the surgical site is very bruised--no surprise--but is healing well with no surprises.
My understanding is that they do this procedure in about 1 hour now--like having your oil changed and a tire rotation.

I'm gonna try to eat a regular meal tonight--I need something good to happen to me soon.

Use today wisely,
It's the only one we get.

Oh, for so short a time,
we are on loan to each other.

Jim
